TONGALA

COUNTRY TOWN.
COMMUNITY DRIVEN.

"Tongala’s win proves that even small communities can gain an excellent understanding of their
visitor market and work cleverly to attract those people, and it is inspiring to hear how murals
painted by locals have been used to breathe life back into this town,” the judges said.

The Tongala Town Square is the newest ‘Open Air Art Gallery’ addition in town. Taking over six months to complete Tongala Street Artists Murray Ross, Jill Conway and Teena Savage along with the local Lions Club turned this vacant block of land into something special for adults and children alike. The Town Square was created to mark the 50th Anniversary of Tongala’s Lions Club, and all they have given to this community. The Tongala Town Square is located next door to the Pharmacy at 46 Mangan Street.

SILO ART TRAIL

Tongala is a popular stop for those on the Silo Art Trail. The array of Murals and Street Art PLUS the new Hay Bale Trail throughout town will help you understand the history & culture of this little farming community established in the mid 1800’s. Much of the artwork tells of times gone by from the early settlers and portrays how Tongala looked in a bygone era.

The painted Hay Bales are especially popular for both the grown-ups and children alike.
We’re proud to be known as ‘the friendly town’, where you’ll experience good wholesome food and country atmosphere at its best.
